Helping you
(or a loved one)
plan their next move

Whether you're going it alone
or hearing a lot of 'helpful' advice,
a solid plan makes the decisions
feel less overwhelming.

Start With What You Know

The first step?
A few questions to help you find the best place to start.

☐ Just me
☐ Family
☐ Shared

What’s your timeline?
☐ 0–3 months
☐ 3–6 months
☐ 6+ months
☐ Just exploring

What’s your next move?
☐ Smaller home
☐ Family
☐ Independent/Assisted living
☐ Not sure yet

Decisions, opinions, and working together

Leaving a longtime home carries memories,
emotions, and often, many voices in the mix,
Whether you’re exploring options,
managing a timeline,
or helping someone else prepare . . .
a clear plan that keeps everyone
moving in the same direction.

Here are a few conversation starters to help get
everyone on the same page:

🩷 Who’s doing what and when? Setting roles and a rough timeline to keep things moving.
🩷 Does the home’s equity play a part in the financial picture?
🩷 Would support with clean outs, repairs, or moving help lighten the load?

When it’s time to prepare the house, here’s where to start

There’s a lot to think about when getting a home ready for sale
 repairs, updates, cleaning, and
figuring out what stays and what goes.

It can feel like a full time job, especially when family members are helping from afar.

Here’s what we can help with:

✔️ Tap into a trusted network of professional cleaners, repair experts, estate services, and more.
✔️ Get guidance on what repairs actually add value and which ones to skip.
✔️ Relax knowing we can handle it all or work right alongside you if that’s a better fit.

We’ve Been There, Too.

We’re Nikki and Michael, and this isn’t just something we help others with. It’s something we’ve been through ourselves.

When Michael’s mother's health necessitated life changes, the responsibility of managing the home and the decisions that followed didn’t fall neatly into place.
Like for many families there were financial unknowns and more than a few important conversations.

Michael coordinated with his siblings and handled the sale of the family home after his mother passed.

That experience shaped how we show up for others today — with patience, empathy, and the kind of practical help families truly need.

We’ve created a guide with all the information here — and maybe you know someone who would appreciate a copy. Please download and save it for yourself or for them.

We’ve also put together a short series of emails with useful information and answers to questions that may come up.

We’d love you to save or share this information
